I hope you are all enjoying my new blog template!  I'm always looking for ways to mix it up a bit, so I'm sure this won't be the last template you see.  Thanks for following me!

Bats About You!

I came up with this one earlier this week but was waiting for my Spooky Puns stamps from My Pink Stamper to come in the mail.  I just got them tonight so I was able to put the finishing touches on it!  I hope you like it (feel free to leave a comment or become a follower :)

I'm trying to send out as many Halloween cards to family/friends as I can.  So you may get lucky and get one of these beautiful cards :)

Best Witches to You!

I made this card for the My Pink Stamper challenge: Make something with a bird in it!  I really love how it turned out.  I felt very inspired to do something Halloween because we spent 4 hours putting up decorations in the front yard....it really looks like a cemetery out there now!

I hope I win the challenge, I know it is random, but it would still be awesome!

Recipe:
Stamp: My pink stamper
Paper: Stampin' Up (I forget the color names)
the black and designer paper are just from my stash
Distress Ink: Vintage Photo (used on the designer paper)
Cartridge: Happy Hauntings

Anything Goes Challenge

Mypinkstamper is having an anything goes challenge and this is what I came up with.  It is also a Thank You card for my Mom because she sent me a little package.  I hope you like it!  I wanted to do do rhinestones but I didn't have any on hand.

The lighting sucks for taking pictures in the craft room so I had to hold this one up a bit.

Haunted Mansion

Check out the Haunted Mansion I just finished making!!  I love it!  The hardest part was putting the roof on, but other than that it wasn't too bad.  I used the Happy Hauntings cartridge to create it.  Let me know what you think!

How cool is it all lit up too!  I'm not sure why the picture quality is messed up...oh well.  I'm going to be adding some more stuff around it (like trees and maybe some people).

Tim Holtz

After seeing Tim Holtz stuff in the store all the time, I decided to watch some videos to see what his stuff was all about.  Well, I was instantly hooked and had to run out and get some distress inks to try.  I've been looking for a good way to make a Lives of The Monster Dogs scrap book and my normal designs weren't going to be right.  BUT  these distress inks are PERFECT!!!  I can't wait to get some grungeboard, misters, perfect pearls, and all the rest of the stuff he has out.

This first picture is of a book mark I made for Mel.  I was literally just playing around on a piece of white card stock and liked what I did so much I had to make it into a tag.  This is my first attempt at the grunge look and it took about 15 minutes.  I love that the ink reacts to water - i flicked some water droplets on it to make it look even more worn and vintage.

I was kinda jealous of the one I made for Mel so I had to make one for myself.  I did the ribbon a little different this time too - I found out that if I used white ribbon I could stain it with the inks so it matched.  I also cut the 2 tags out with my cricut, I think I used the sentiments cartridge.

Close up: I used the tissue tape in the center
Hope you like it!  I'll be making more things with Tim Holtz's products in the future, I already have a wish list!!  (Oh, and his scissors are amazing - cut like butter).  He just had a bunch of stuff on HSN but it all sold out before I had a chance to get the great deals...

Get Whale Soon!

I made this on for the MIL.  She was supposed to come down for Mel's surgery on Tuesday but was unable to.  She bent over and damaged her sciatic nerve.  I hope that this card helps brighten her day a little bit.  I used my pink stamper puns stamp set, ribbon from hobby lobby, ink is chocolate chip from stampin' up, paper is from Michael's (think it's bazzil).  I used my new sharpie paint pen to do the white stitching. Oh, and of course, the create a critter cartridge!

You can see it but I used pop up dots on the whale so he sticks up from the rest of the page.

Altered Clipboard - First Attempt

This is my first attempt at the altered clipboard.  I had a hard time getting the paper to dry flat, even when I used just a little bit of the modge pod.  It was also kind of hard to tie the ribbons on - they don't look as cool as some of the ones I've seen have.  The paper was K company and it was a little thin and hard to work with so I'll try another brand next time.  I have some cute mini clipboards to try it with too.

Card and gift for Grandy

Happy Birthday to Grandy.  I think she turned 84 this year.  So, I made her this card (I've been dying to use the metal flower embellishments I got from Michael's) and this altered coaster.  I think it turned out cute...hope she likes it!

Altered Coaster

I saw this idea on etsy.  They were selling altered coasters that they turned into post-it note holders and I just thought it was so cute.
I used mod podge to coat the coaster, then set my paper on it.  Let it dry and put another coat on top of the paper.  I did the same with the binder clip.  It was super easy to do.  My plan is to make some matching clipboards and coordinating cards to give out as Christmas gifts to co-workers, etc...

Nuts About You

I made this card for my girlfriend using the create a critter cartridge.  I really love the nuts on the side.

I have been playing around with the my pink stamper stamps a lot lately and I love them so much!  They are such good quality.  They stick really nicely to the block and the image comes out so clear.  All the paper (except for the brown) and the ribbon came from stampin' up.  It cuts like butter on the cricut - I'm definitely going to have to get some more...I just wish I could get free shipping after spending a certain amount!  I also used stickles on the nose and hair.

The mat is a little off centered...but once I do a few more I think I will have it down.
