Hippo Birthday Dad!

I made this card for my Dad's 59th birthday!  Wow, time does fly.  I used the create a critter cartridge, paper & ribbon from stampin' up, and MPS punny-lious stamps.

The color in the picture is a little off since I am using my girlfriend's camera (and hers just isn't that great).  My new battery charger just came in the mail so the picture/color quality will be a lot better soon.

You can't read the stamp too well because of the glare, but it says "Hippo Birthday".  Also, the polka dot paper has some glitter in it.  I wish the quality of the colors was better because it really doesn't do this card justice.

Hi! Card

My MIL hasn't been feeling good lately so I made her this card.  She also just visited recently so I wanted to send her something letting her now how good it was to see her (and the nieces).  This card is my first attempt at stamping and using the Martha Stewart punches.  I really liked the way it turned out - especially the stickles!!! (Which are so much better then regular glitter - you can get it even, right where you want it, and zero mess).

I also love that little brad, you'd never guess that's what it was.  I tried using the colorbox chalk stamp pad for the "Hi!" and the "Thinking of you" on the inside of the card, but it barely showed up.  I had to color over the image with a gel pen but I think it turned out really cute!

First Card

This is a picture of the first card I ever made.  I had just gotten the cricut and was just playing around with the Songbird cartridge.  I really wanted to add some bling to the crown and in some other areas but I lost the jewels I bought, and it has taken residence up on our refrigerator ever since.

This is the inside of the card:

Cutting out these letters and gluing them to the shadow was such a pain.  Now I try to avoid the fonts if I can - or at least omit the shadows.  If any readers have any advice on a better adhesive for the smaller things it would be greatly appreciated if you shared.  Right now all I have for the little objects is the blue Martha Stewart glue pen.  (I also just bought the xyron sticker maker so maybe that will help to).

My Pink Stamper

I'm so excited!!! Robyn from My Pink Stamper just returned an email to me!  I know how busy she is, so it really means a lot to me.  I just bought 2 of her stamp sets (the punny-lious) and plan on buying a few more.  Since I've never really stamped before I asked her how I could clean them.  She said that if I don't have stamp cleaner then I could just use soap, water, and air dry them.  The stamps will probably get stained though....but no biggie.

I am going to be posting some of my cards that I used her stamps in soon.  I'm going to try to go in chronological order based on when I made them.  (Finally got some batteries for Mel's camera- still waiting for my charger).

Lost Battery Charger for Camera

I'm so bummed!  I had a card to post tonight, but my camera battery died and I can't find the charger.  Then, I tried to use the gf's but her batteries were dead and we didn't have any back up.

I ordered a new charger tonight on ebay.  Hopefully I'll get it soon and can post pictures.  Otherwise, there really is no purpose for this blog besides just writing to myself...

Welcome!

Hello all!  Welcome to my new crafting page.  I just started making cards and other paper crafts this summer and wanted a way to share what I've made.  I love my cricut and will be showing the various projects that I make with it.  I'll be posting my first image soon.

Thank you for reading!
